These Terms are an agreement between you and RECIPE NOOK (PTY) LTD. By accessing the website, downloading the app, or using Recipe Nook, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use Recipe Nook. You must be able to enter into a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you, or have permission from a parent or guardian where required.

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure, for the activity that happens through your account, and for keeping your account information accurate. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Recipe Nook uses an identity provider to support sign-in and account security. We may suspend access where we reasonably believe an account is compromised, violates these Terms, or creates risk for other users or the service.

You keep ownership of recipes, photos, meal entries, shopping lists, notes, imports, and other content you add to Recipe Nook. You give Recipe Nook a limited licence to host, store, copy, format, process, display, and use that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.

Recipe Nook may normalise or reuse source-derived recipe records when more than one user imports the same recipe or public source. This helps keep imported recipes consistent and avoids duplicating the same source record unnecessarily. Each user still receives their own saved copy, and we keep private account data, personal notes, meal logs, shopping lists, preferences, and profile information private where reasonably possible.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights needed to save, upload, import, or share content through Recipe Nook. Do not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or infringes someone else's rights.

Recipe Nook helps with meal planning, recipe organisation, shopping lists, place discovery, and food suggestions. Nookie AI and other generated suggestions may be personalised from your saved recipes, meal history, dietary preferences, allergens, cuisine preferences, shopping behaviour, feedback, and app activity.

Recipe Nook, Nookie AI, imported recipes, generated meal ideas, shopping suggestions, and nearby-place information may be wrong, incomplete, outdated, unsafe for a particular allergy or diet, or unsuitable for your circumstances. Recipe Nook is not medical, nutritional, allergy, food-safety, or professional advice.

You must verify ingredients, allergens, dietary suitability, nutrition assumptions, cooking instructions, food safety, product prices, product availability, store information, place information, and any AI or automated suggestion before acting on it.

Recipe Nook relies on service categories such as identity, hosting, analytics, diagnostics, bot-prevention, location/place search, app distribution, push notifications, and device operating-system services. These providers help us operate, secure, deliver, measure, and improve the app and website.

Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for third-party websites, app stores, operating systems, restaurants, stores, or services that are outside Recipe Nook's control.

Our Privacy Policy explains how Recipe Nook collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects personal information, including mobile permissions, cookies, analytics, diagnostics, and international transfers.

You can request account deletion from /support/delete-account or from the app profile area when signed in. Deletion removes active Recipe Nook account data where technically and legally possible. Some records may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, provider systems, or records we must keep for legal, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution reasons.

Recipe Nook may include beta, preview, experimental, or AI-assisted features. These may change, break, produce incomplete results, or be removed. We may adjust models, providers, data flows, and feature availability as the product matures, while keeping privacy disclosures current for material changes.

You may stop using Recipe Nook at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, create risk for users or the service, misuse the product, or if we discontinue part of Recipe Nook.

Sections intended to survive termination, including ownership, content licence for prior operations, disclaimers, limitation of liability, privacy, and dispute terms, continue to apply as far as legally permitted.

Recipe Nook is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, perfectly accurate, or fit for every particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recipe Nook and its people will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business, arising from your use of the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you are responsible for decisions you make based on recipes, imports, Nookie AI, meal suggestions, shopping suggestions, place information, or other content in Recipe Nook. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without limiting privacy rights that may apply to users in other places such as the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled by the courts of South Africa unless mandatory consumer or privacy laws require another forum.
